Marín Guevara
Marín Guevara (Fuente Álamo, Murcia, 1979) is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Murcia, Spain, whose practice explores processes of construction through experimentation, material research, and the balance between color and form.
His artistic career began in the field of graffiti during the 1990s, an experience that introduced him to both the immediacy and the ephemeral nature of artistic intervention. Since 2006, he has gradually shifted his focus from urban interventions to studio practice, adopting a more introspective and experimental approach based on trial and error. This process of research, often understood by the artist as a form of material alchemy, remains central to his work.
Working in painting, sculpture, and installation, Marín Guevara develops spatial dialogues that integrate these disciplines into cohesive visual environments. His practice frequently incorporates cycles, repetitions, and symbolic imagery drawn from religious, pagan, and dreamlike references. In recent years, his painting has evolved toward a reduction of figuration, giving greater prominence to color, composition, and geometric structure, resulting in works closely linked to concrete art and minimalism.
His sculptural work combines traditional and industrial materials—including concrete, resin, silicone, Plexiglas, and wooden assemblages—with an emphasis on fragmentation, transformation, and layered textures.
