Sofía Cristina Jiménez explores in her work the boundary between the tangible and the imagined, constructing pictorial worlds where nature, fantasy and fiction coexist in a delicate balance. Through acrylic painting, the artist blends elements of surrealism, botanical illustration and visual poetry to create scenes which, whilst recognisable, seem to belong to a world suspended between reality and dreams.
Her compositions combine landscapes, vegetation and animal figures with unexpected and playful elements, transforming nature into a space of imagination and possibility. In them, the everyday takes on a fantastical dimension and the depiction becomes an invitation to look beyond the visible.

Jiménez’s work draws inspiration from Jean-Honoré Fragonard, particularly his sensitivity to nature, light and the creation of idyllic scenes brimming with movement and theatricality. At the same time, his compositions featuring metallic balloons engage with the imagery of Jeff Koons and his exploration of popular culture, the object and a fascination with polished, shiny surfaces.
Through these influences, Jiménez develops a visual language of his own that combines delicacy and spectacle, naturalistic detail and fantasy. His work has been exhibited internationally, from China to the Royal Caribbean International, broadening the dialogue of his painting with different contexts and audiences within the contemporary art scene.
